 Bericht
Chad Hedrick holt Gold in Norwegen!

Chad Hedrick WINS World Allround Speed Skating Championships
Hamar – February 07.-08.2004

Hedrick wins despite the controversy regarding a Netherlands skater using another skater in the warm-up lane as a pacesetter three quarters into the 5K.

Hedrick, the most recognized inline skater in the world began ice speed skating in 2002. With such little time on the speed skating circuit, no one knows what to next. Chad is a phenomenal athlete that clearly proves he wants it more than anyone. Hedrick admits his technique is not nearly as sound as he would like, but he finds a way. Chad set a new world worker in total samalog points putting himself among names like Eric Heiden.

"I believe the world of Speed Skating is getting a view of the inline talent pool" says Doug Glass. Inlines skating has incredible depth and it is only a matter of time before the best of the best on Inlines become the best of the best in speed skating.

Next up for Chad:

February 20 - 22, 2004 Inzell, Germany Men: 2 x 500m, 1000m, 1500m, 5000m, team pursuit

February 27 - 29, 2003 Heerenveen, Netherlands Men: 100m, 2 x 500m, 1000m, 1500m, 5000m, 10000m

March 12-14 SeoulRepublic of Korea World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships

Following the ice season look for Hedrick to be a force on the inline circuit...”Hedrick has found a new challenge in speed skating that will definitely carry over to his inlines” says Glass.

Powerslide and Hedrick have put together a schedule that allows him to pursue his Olympic dream while upholding his presence in the inline world.

As Chad works directly with Powerslide/Matter/Core to ensure we have the absolute best products in the world, Powerslide in return will be helping Chad reach yet another goal…dreaming of one day running his own business. Hedrick and Powerslide promise to also deliver new technology to the sport of speed skating.

Chad and his team have already begun the RD&D (research design and development.) He is not wearing Powerslide at this moment, but with the recent signing of Mr. Hedrick it certainly proves his confidence and intuition of Powerslide. The team is bundled with a wealth of inline speed skating knowledge but as we all can see, inline skating, products, technology has a lot to offer the speed skating world.

Question: Chad, do you plan to carry out your inline career? And if so, how serious are you about maintaining your recognition as being the number one skater in the world?

Answer: "The only reason I have been able to achieve this level in ice speed skating so quickly is because of inline skating. My inline schedule is not as intense as in past years, but I can assure you I will be training on inlines preparing for my inline races in 04’. Speed Skating has rejuvenated, refocused, and rekindled my fire. Inline skating has been a huge part of my success and I plan to keep it that way as long as I feel I can still win" - Chad Hedrick
